Donald graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. In 1980, after working as a staff engineer for the Northern Illinois Water Company, Donald became a Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.

For thirty years, Donald has been dedicated to remaining knowledgeable, active and engaged in his field, thereby optimizing his value as a client resource. He prizes integrity in professional matters and subscribes to a high ethical standard. Over the years, Donald has earned the professional designations of Chartered Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®). Donald has also earned the professional designation of Chartered Long Term Care Consultant (CLTC) and is the Estate and Business Planning Specialist for the McClure Group (EBPS). He is a Life and Qualifying member of the Million Dollar Roundtable (MDRT 28 years), a member of the American Association of Life Underwriters, Washington D.C. (AALU), and an organizing member of the University Club Study Group in Milwaukee.

Leading with values through community service and professional volunteer work is important to Donald. He has served as the Past President of Champaign Rotary Charities, Past President of Northwestern Mutual Financial Representatives Association (FRA), Past President of the Eastern Illinois Estate Planning Council, Past President of the Champaign Community Foundation, and the Past Director of the NMFN Professional Growth Association. He is a committee member of the Champaign United Way Planned Giving program, a member of the Carle Hospital Foundation, and a member of the University of Illinois Foundation.

In addition to his dedication to professional excellence and volunteer work, Donald strives to give back to the community every day. Donald’s hobbies include participating in and sponsoring community events such as the Christie Run for the Health of It, Relay for Life for Cancer Research, and the Multiple Sclerosis Walk. Donald is a member of St. Matthew Church and sponsors the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Young Life. He is a participant in the Illinois ¼ Marathon, a member of Champaign Country Club Men’s Golf and Tennis Leagues, and is an Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity alum.
